Community Picnic Planning meeting, 29th June, 7pm via Zoom

Things are moving on the former bowling greens….

  • the building has been painted
  • a new public toilet block has been installed – this is temporary until September.

At our last public meeting we agreed to hold a Community Picnic on Saturday 17th July, 1-3pm (weather permitting) in the bowling green area, to raise awareness amongst park users about possible futures for the bowling green area. We are still waiting for the go-ahead from the Council for this event, but planning is taking shape.

Because of Covid restrictions, the picnic will have to be pretty simple and ‘low key’, but we hope to at least bring some members of our community together, and try to collect views from the public on their favourites from the list of suggested possible futures for the area. People will be asked to bring their own picnic. Barbeques will not be permitted. Novelty activities for kids will be provided.

If you want to get involved and are able to volunteer to help with the community picnic in any capacity, eg. planning and on the day, please join the meeting 7pm, Tuesday 29th June.
