Leith Links Community Council
A full meeting of the Community Council is held on the last Monday of every month (except July & December) at 6:30pm in Leith Community Centre.
These meetings are held in public, so members of the local community are welcome to attend, and will have an opportunity to raise issues of concern, ask questions etc.
The agenda for each meeting will be published at least seven days in advance on this website and on our social media.
The papers for each meeting are displayed in the section of this website called ‘our library’.

Sub Committee on Planning & Licensing
The role of the Sub Committee on Planning & Licensing is to take forward the Community Council’s interest in local planning, infrastructure & licensing matters, in particular specifically with comments on applications for Planning Permission (including Change of Use, Conservation Area matters etc.). The sub-committee also considers matters relating to alcohol licensing, e.g. local applications.
In 2018/19 this committee has also been actively participating in ‘Community Councils Together on Trams’ (CCTT) meeting regularly to discuss, scrutinise and influence the intended extension of the Edinburgh Tram route , proposed to pass through our area (via Constitution Street) and onwards to Newhaven.
Leith Links Community Council is also represented in the recently formed Edinburgh Bus Users Group (EBUG)
This sub-committee also makes responses to local and national consultations relating to planning, licensing and/or transport.
Sub Committee on Parks & Greenspaces
The role of the Sub Committee on Parks & Greenspaces is to take forward the Community Council’s interest in Leith Links park, the Restalrig Railway Path and other green spaces in our areas.
Special meetings / events
From time to time we hold special meetings / events where there is a public interest and community benefit in doing so. Such meetings are open to anyone in our community to attend. Such meetings / events are promoted via this website, on our social media channels and in local noticeboards.
Such meetings / events could include but are not limited to special public presentations to allow complex or significant planning applications to be given public scrutiny.
- April 1 2019 – Parklife Project Community Workshop aiming to help learn more about how people use and value parks.
- April 2017 – Hustings for Council Election Candidates, a chance for the local community to listen to each candidate’s policies and to ask questions.
- November 2016 – Special public meeting to allow presentation of significant planning application.
