How to apply

  1. Think about the times you may have said ‘We need…’; ‘I wish we could…’; Why can’t they / we do…?; ‘If only there were a…’; ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if…’;
  2. Think of a project that would benefit your community, locally, that you’d be able to organise and carry out. You don’t need to have all the details worked out, you just need a good idea to start with.
  3. Discuss and develop the idea with friends and family. Try to aim high but also be realistic.
  4. If you are under 18, find an adult to co-sponsor the project with you.
  5. Come along to a Help and Support session, to discuss and shape your project.
  6. Decide if you are applying for a Small Grant (up to £400) or a Larger Grant (up to £2,500).
  7. Start collecting the stuff you’ll need, to make an application:
    • Proof of your identity –  for example: Passport or Young Scot Card, Saltire Card, birth/adoption certificate.
    • Proof of your address – for example: Council Tax bill, recent utility bill, letter from DWP, HMRC etc.
    • Details, and the *Constitution of your organisation (*if applicable)
  8. When you’ve finalised your project outline, download and fill in the paper application form and bring it along to a Help and Support session to submit it as soon as it’s ready, or at the very latest, by 27 February 2017.
