Leith Links Park FAQs

Got a question about Leith Links Park? We hope you find the answer here.

Unfortunately, there is no single person or team at City of Edinburgh Council who has responsibility for Leith Links Park. This can make it confusing and difficult for members of our community to identify & contact the correct person or team responsible for the matter they wish to enquire about.

We hope that this brief guide will help you to direct any enquiries you may have to the correct person/place.

Complaints, suggestions & feedback

In the first instance, we encourage these to be made to the City of Edinburgh Council via officers, using the contact details provided on each topics page. This will provide them with an opportunity to respond to you hopefully, with an outcome which adequately addresses your enquiry.

It is though worth considering that there are many users of Leith Links with differing needs, expectations & ambitions which also need to be considered by the Council when making changes to Leith Links. It is also worth being aware that local government funding in Scotland (including Edinburgh) is under significant pressure which limits the funding available for parks and greenspaces generally.

If having received a response from the Council you are unhappy with the outcome, you may wish to follow the Councils formal complaint procedure.

To make a complaint;

Councillors

Whilst the day to day management of Leith Links rests with Council officers, there are three Councillors representing the Leith Links area who you may wish to contact from assistance or advice;

Parks Officer

City of Edinburgh Council employ a Parks Officer to provide some oversight of Leith Links. Although not directly responsible for many of the services required to manage Leith Links, he does have a role in contacting & co-ordinating such services.

The current Parks Officer is Scott Thomson, who can be contacted using the details below;
