Biomass Plant: How might it look?

The members of Leith Links Community council have not been to impressed with the ‘artists impressions’ provided by Forth Energy of how the proposed Biomass plant might look. So, using a photo taken from Ocean Terminal, we took the opportunity to try to make our mock up of the plant – to try to give people an indication of the proposed size of the building.

We’ve also submitted our formal response to the Scottish Government, as part of the first stage of consultation on the biomass plant proposals. You can download it from the link below:

Next meeting is on Monday 22 March

Next meeting at Leith St Andrews Church Halls, at 7:30pm on Monday 22 March. We are just finalising the agenda and it will be available here soon. We’ll certainly be discussing Forth Energy’s plans for a biomass power station in Leith Docks, and other local hot topics.

Does Leith Links need more bulbs?

Last autumn we organised a project to plant 10,000 bulbs in Leith Links. The cold weather has delayed spring somewhat, but we are starting to see the results of these efforts and this is a good time to ask … do we want more bulbs?

So, let us know what you think, if there are areas that you’d like to see planted or you are a fan of particular spring flowers, let us know. If you notice bare patches in the current bulbs please take a photo as it will help us to fill in the gaps!
