Working with other Community Councils

Leith Links Community Council plays a proactive role in working with other Edinburgh Community Councils. Although the needs & aspirations of the communities we serve often differ, there are often similar challenges, opportunities & themes.

Recent examples include:

• Transport matters:  We are active members of Community Councils Together on Trams which brings together four local Community Councils to work together in relation to the City of Edinburgh Councils Trams to Newhaven project.

 

• City of Edinburgh Councils review of Community Councils Scheme of Administration: We organised & hosted two collaborative working sessions to support Community Councils across North East Edinburgh to respond to the consultation.

 

• Leith Volunteer Fairs #1 & #2 and Leith Festival Gala Days: Working with Leith Harbour and Newhaven Community Council and Leith Central Community Council we jointly ran stalls at the Leith Volunteer Fairs and Leith Festival Gala Days.

 

We are also members of Edinburgh Association of Community Councils, our representative being Community Councillor Jim Scanlon.
