As part of its response to the Covid-19 national health emergency City of Edinburgh Council has given notice of its intentions to make changes to a number of local streets.
Easter Road, Duke Street, Great Junction Street and the bottom of Leith Walk have all been included in plans made public by Council officers.
We have provided a copy of a letter seen by Leith Links Community Council, with a map below.
Comments should be submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council by 5pm on Friday 26 June 2020 by emailing spacesforpeople@edinburgh.gov.uk. However, please note that Council officers have made clear that they cannot provide individual responses.

The City of Edinburgh Council has published papers making known it is considering adapting Great Junction Street, Easter Road & Shore as part of its response to Covid-19. The plans being considered would see a widening of pavements to allow more space for pedestrians to observe social distancing measures. The adaptations being considered follow on from the recent closure of Links Gardens.

Update 14/5/20: Please note that commenting on this post closed at 18:00 on 14/5/20 as the relevant City of Edinburgh Council meeting had concluded.
The City of Edinburgh Council has arranged for waterproofing works to be undertaken on the Great Junction Street bridge from Sunday 5 January 2020 for up to ten weeks.
Although this is outwith the Leith Links Community Council area, these works when taken into consideration alongside tram related works in Leith has the potential cause disruption to many members of our community.
The works mean that the bridge will be closed to south bound traffic, bus stops & routes are also affected.
